2014 Favourites; BeautyBlender and GIVEAWAY!

First up I need to aCpologise for not posting in over a month! I have been so busy with school work and holiday preparations that I've had no time to sit down and blog, however to make it up to you I am holding a great giveaway so make sure you read to the end of this post for more info!
This year there has been one product in particular that I have fallen in love with, the famous BeautyBlender. I'd heard so much about this product but the £26 price tag continuously put me off it, so last year I decided to buy the Models Own version, at just £7.99 for 2 it was a bargain. I absolutely loved this dupe and raved about it to my friends and family. This was until I managed to get my hands on the real deal. When I heard the September Birchbox would be containing a Classic BeautyBlender and full size cleanser I just couldn't resist, I already had a voucher for a Birchbox and so managed to get it for just £5! Since recieving the BeautyBlender I use it pretty much every time I apply foundation and I don't think I will ever be turning back.

For those who don't know, the BeautyBlender is a makeup sponge which ensures easy application of foundation, concealer and cream blush creating a flawless finish. The unique egg shape allows for easy application even in the smallest of areas, the point is perfect for around the eyes and nose where as the large round base is perfect for blending. As it has no edges, this sponge prevents streaks and lines that you get from a traditional brush, however the most interesting part of this sponge is the texture. It's made up of an 'open cell structure' before use you soak the sponge in water and then squeeze out the excess, it will then expand to double its original size, this structure means that the makeup sits on top of the sponge apposed to soaking in to it which means you use less makeup and your sponge is cleaner after use compared to other sponges. The picture below shows the difference between the Models Own sponge and the BeautyBlender, both products were cleaned before I took the photos yet you can see how the dirt remains trapped in the gaps between the Models Own sponge, this means when you next us it you will just be adding the dirt and bacteria on your skin, I didn't realise how gross this was!
The BeautyBlender also comes with a cleaning solid which makes the tedious cleaning process easy, you simply treat the solid as a soap and wipe it over the wet sponge and rinse, it also works a treat on brushes.
GIVEAWAY
Because I love this product so much, I am going to be giving away one Classic (Pink) BeautyBlender complete with a cleaning solid worth £26!
