I always love the packaging of the Birchbox, the aptly designed, adorable boxes have recently become my lifesaver as they are perfect for organising my makeup draws (I will put a post up about this soon!). The samples are then neatly packaged in a cute drawstring bag which doubles up as a great makeup bag, and there is a card that details the theme of the months box as well as all the samples included.
The first product in the box was Shaveworks The Cool Fix (60ml - £11.99), this is a cooling gel lotion which is applied to dry skin after shaving to reduce red bumps and ingrown hairs. The cooling formula soothes any irritations whilst the natural exfoliators remove dead cells. I really like this product and the gel is the perfect consistency making it easy to apply. I would definitely co sider buying this one again,
Next up is the activbod Feel Great Shower Concentrate (100ml - £5). This is a shower gel created with a blend of sea minerals, green tea extract and almond oil. I haven't tried this one out yet but it smells so fresh, I am looking forward to giving it a try.
I have heard great things about this Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (50ml - £30.00) and so I was definitely excited to see it in my box. You simply apply a generous amount of this bio active peel mask to clean skin, leave for 10 minutes and wipe away to reveal soft, radiant skin. This mask improves the appearance of fine lines, reduces blackheads and redness and exfoliates away dead skin cells. It really is a miracle mask!
When I found out that a Stila product would be in the January box I was so excited. Stila is one brand I have always been dying to try and so I had high hopes, but this Stila Lip Glaze (2.4ml - £15.00) did not disappoint. This gloss is packed full of vitamins A, C and E moisturising the lips whilst the shimmery pink colour is incredibly flattering and I found it actually makes my lips look much fuller and healthier. Additionally, the twist brush applicator makes this product really easy to apply. I don't know how I've survived without this beautiful product!
One of my favourite things about Birchbox is that they also chuck a lifestyle sample into the box, this time it was the Embrace Matcha Green Tea (30 servings - £24.99). As a huge green tea drinker I was a bit skeptical about this one as I had never come across a product like it before. The matcha green tea comes in powder form and is then mixed into either boiling water, ice water or hot milk for a versatile drink. The superfood nature of this product means it's packed with nutrients and anti-oxidants (10x more than regular green tea) and the smooth texture and clean, fresh finish makes this tea something completely new, I would recommend everybody to try it.
I am really happy with this box and I actually like all of the products, however my favourite is definitely the Stila Lip Glaze. I am looking forward to recieving my next box and will have another post up about that one too. What do you think about Birchbox? Have you ever tried one?
I've never tried any subscription box service, do you find they are worth their price?
