Benefit Roller Lash Blogger's Event

Benefit Cosmetics is one of those brands that I know I can always trust and will continue to entice me with their fabulous new releases as well as their famous classics. Their wide range of award winning makeup and skincare products means there is something to suit everyone's needs and the oh-so-cute packaging always has me rushing straight to their counter. This is why Benefit has always been a favourite of mine and so when I received an email last week inviting me to my local store for a bloggers event I was overwhelmed with excitement!
The main aim of the night was to celebrate the launch of their new 'Roller Lash Mascara'. We spent the evening learning more about the mascara and its innovative design as well as the idea behind it and the differences between 'Roller Lash' and the award winning 'They're Real' (I will get into that later!). We were also all treated to a famous Benefit Brow Wax, had a tour of the boutique and an opportunity to find out more about the company and its products.
When Ellie and I arrived, we were greeted by Jasmin who organised the event, and were offered drinks and a biscuit. The tables were beautifully layed out with the two mascaras and disposable wands as well as pack of information about the products. Once everybody had arrived we jumped right in and began learning more about this new release...
The first point that Jasmin covered was why Benefit released a new mascara when they already have the UKs number 1 best seller with 'They're Real' (both £19.50). She emphasised that Roller Lash has not been released to compete with They're Real but instead offers a completely different look, Roller Lash is used to create a softer and girlier curl to the lashes where as They're Real is a bolder and lengthening mascara. Additionally, They're Real is a jet-black formula adding to the Bold effect where as Roller Lash has an ink-black formula and therefore helps to create a softer look.
However, the biggest difference between the two mascaras is the wand. Roller Lash has an innovative wand design inspired by hair rollers to curl and lift the lashes. The 'Hook 'N' Roll' wand features small, strategically placed hooks which catch every lash lifting it and curling it. The wand also has a curved side for the upper lashes and a straight side for the bottom lashes to ensure easy application on all eye shapes. Compared to They're Real, the brush on Roller Lash is much smaller which helps to create a more natural and softer result, where as They're Real has a larger brush made up of a combination of long and short bristles which add dramatic length and volume.
Jasmin then went on to demonstrate the mascara on my lashes. She explained how it has a lash conditioning formula and is much easier to remove than the They're Real. Additionally, the cleverly designed bottle ensures that excess formula is removed from the brush which stops the product from clumping and flaking. She then showed how the quick drying formula makes it easier to achieve the desired look by building up layers, the first coat creates a very natural look enhancing the lashes but can be built up creating a more curled and girly finish.
We were then given the opportunity to find out more about other Benefit product and we were all eager to learn about the new 'Puff Off' eye gel. This cooling eye gel is used to smooth out under eye puffiness and is perfect to put on before concealing. The gel formula glides on smoothly and easily out of the adorable metal tip which has been inspired by a vintage iron. I absolutley adore the packaging of this product and it felt very soothing on the skin. It retails at £22.50 which I think is very reasonable for a product of such high quality like this one.
Look how cute this tip is!
We were also given a tour of the boutique which had two treatment rooms for its services such as waxing and tanning. We were all also treated to a complimentary eyebrow wax which I really needed! The waxing process was a lot less painful than I anticipated and I love the shape that I have been given, Benefit have their own technique to find the perfect shape for your face creating the famous Benefit Brow. We were all also lucky enough to be given a wonderful goody bag to take home with us which at am very grateful for!
I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and want to say a huge thankyou to Jasmin who organised the event. Have you tried the Roller Lash mascara, what are your thoughts on it?
